Lily in the hall!

imageimageimageI have moved the house to my corner.  It’s getting crowded with little girls and quaint treasures.  I probably need a new home soon, overrun by my own collection.

Somehow the furnishings in the lily doesn’t quite fit.  Perhaps it’s the popcorn machine.  Perhaps it’s missing some key pieces like the stove, couch, hall table and the rocking horse.  Something is just not right and I still don’t know what.

i lost a bid last week. The eagle stove below.  It was pure bad luck!

Rubylane is selling for $110!!!!! And I could have gotten it for half. This is super frustrating because it’s just plain bad luck wrong time wrong place wrong whatever!

A new toy coming soon, an antique German toy shop!

imageThis one of its kind toy shop is on its way from Netherlands and should arrive this coming week.  I am so excited over it.  The lady who sold me this precious find was really nice, offering me below her purchase price.  I am so glad I got it.  I had come across this shop by chance really. Discovering it in ruby lane and then in ebay.  What luck!!!! Thanks Pippa for selling me this treasure 😀

First occupants

IMAG1798IMAG1876Say hi to the first occupants of the lily.  I just realised that I did not give a name to my house.  I was growing in etsy when I came across Marie Evans work.  Amazing little pets really.  It’s made of leather like fabric with acrylic painted over it.  The french bulldog is a cutie.  The greyhound looked better in photos really.  I have also fixed up two mini pulltoy for the attic.  Still waiting for a rocking horse from Ian Rose’s creation but non listed yet.

These are two lonely dogs without an owner yet.  Next would be a little girl I have looking at in rubylane.  Too expensive for now so I will wait a bit longer.

NEW TOYZZZZ

The mini Armoire is here with the nightstand. Both are bellissima! Had to sand the white one a little and painted a crack line with Gesso but all’s good. The armoire will go in to the 1st floor hallway and the nightstand will go next to the bathroom hallway. Until next month’s paycheck its a fullstop for now 🙂

Bathroom planks are up!

IMAG1789 IMAG1790 IMAG1800

The planks are finally up and painted for the bathroom.  Somehow the arrangement for the toilet furnishings still look a little odd.  The plans were ice cream craft sticks and the top part is from balsa wood strips. The floral wallpaper was overpowering the furnishings hence i needed to mute it down a little.I should have stuck the strips before the sidings but oh well…

Clean out! Cornice and wall sidings in in in!

Ok so we need to finish the house, I had to clean out all the furnishings to add in the ceiling cornice and wall sidings.  Took another 6 hours to fit them all in over the course of 4 days. Used a hack saw at first but got tired so i used scissors for the sidings.  I need to repaint them some as the white did not look quite white.  Get the ones that are painted, the cornice were painted and they look so much better. I bought the ones from china and they cost a lot less and the quality is just the same as those from Australia and London, probably imported from China anyway!

Next would be the bathroom bit which i think i should follow what otterine did for her haunted house toilet. some white wood plank for the walls so that the floral design is not overpowering the pieces. This will take another 3 hours or so. TONIGHT i hope 🙂

More Stuffs! Vanity, popcorn machine and Medicine cabinet!

The stuff finally arrived after my trip.  The vanity table was hard to find and i got it off the net from a shop in australia.  Got a grandfather clock as well but the spire broke which i had to reglue.

The meds cabinet was another hard to find and that broke too! 4 spires and needed more gluing.  The grand chair was from the same seller and its not fitting in the decor right now.  The regency table was a nice edition too. They are all the same ones as jen specs’s strange house. Scary but i really love the strange house.

Oh and i got two Silvia Leiner mini mini toy box. My husband said this: These people are crazeeee!

And then i got the popcorn machine. i fell in love with this and it must have been forever, at least 5 years. It was too darn expensive but i finally got it. Not fitting in to the decor but i could not care less. It must fit.

Some more nice stuff coming.  I still need a table, chair, kitchen table, kitchen rack, stove, couch and some carpeting. That should be enough for now. Don’t want this to look crowded. Less is more!

Chrysnbon Bathroom Kit done!

IMG_7461 IMG_7459 IMG_7462

Been a while since i last updated the progress.  Took some time fixing up the plastic kits from Chrysnbon.  They are really wonderfully molded and almost look perfect. The detail mouldings are amazing.  I should have chosen a chinoiserie print for the bathroom wallpaper.  Would have looked calmer.  Well, i may revamp later on.

The kit is not for newbies i would say. It started out really awful. I had sprayed painted the tub but it was so thick and uneven eventually i used thinner and removed most of the gunk.  Now its rough and patching.  I used acrylic which should have been that way from the start.  I sprayed the sink as well and it turned out bad as well but i managed to cover it up a little.  Bought silver paint to go through the taps and silver parts to dull them down.  I wanted to keep most parts white.

The de-clogger was painter red with a brown handle but it looked too ol’ skool so i decided to make it a little sleeker.  Who says victorian cant be fancy.  I added toilet paper to the roll.  Created a rack as well.  Added a string to the end of the brush. The little tooth brushes are super cute!

So the bathroom was re-positioned a few times. I had the sink facing the back but that didn’t look too charming.  The side view is way better.  Now i have so little space to play with the toilet bowl faces the viewer now.  Hmm…  I may just redo it once again when I put in the trims.

Oh well, I am semi happy about it, not too thrilled with all the troubles i ran in to. Next step would be the lighting I suppose.  The white led light will be removed. I have decided so as it looks really weird having the bathroom and kitchen in white and the rest in yellow.

Curtains

Curtains are up!  Not to my liking but it will do for a while until I get nicer fabrics or perhaps purchase online. A little disappointed with the supplies I can find here.  The rods were made using craft sticks and clay for the ends.  I will be starting on the chrysnbon toilet after this.
